6 Montachusett School of Gymnastics Students (levels 4-8) were chosen to have breakfast with the USA Gymnastics 2009 World Championship Team on Saturday 12/12/09. This team consisted of All-Around Gold medalistBridget Sloan, All-Around Silver medalist and uneven bars bronze medalist Rebecca Bross, vault gold medalist Kayla Williams, and balance beam silver medalist Ivanna Hong.
The gymnasts, pictured from left to right include: Kailey Allen, Makayla Porter, Nicole Biondi, Mikaylah Gammel, Amanda Kasper, and Stephanie Doucette. They had the opportunity to have breakfast with, and get autographs from the USA Gymnastics Champions. A question and answer period was also held, and the gymnasts had the opportunity to see what the life of a USA Gymnastics Champion is all about, and were inspired by the words of encouragment offered by these dynamic gymnasts.
Montachusett School of Gymnastics Fitchburg MA was represented at the kickoff event hosted by USA Gymnastics and Bela Karolyi at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA on October 5, 2009.
The Tyson American Cup will be coming to Worcester on March 6, 2010 at the DCUCenter, and Bela Karolyi was thought to be the perfect inspiration to kick off this event. The Tyson American Cup is one of the most prestigious annual international competitions in the sport of gymnastics, and this will be the first time this prestigious invitational will be held in Massachusetts. Bela Karolyi is the Legendary Gymnastics Coach, who has coached many Olympic Champions, and offered an inspiring speech to Gymnastic Coaches and club owners in Massachusetts as part of the kick off event. This international competition will feature top Men and Women’s gymnasts from the United States and around the world. The list of former champions includes Bart Conner, Paul Hamm, Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Shannon Miller, Carly Patterson, Mary Lou Retton and Nadia Comaneci.
The Gymnasts at Montachusett will be attending the event as spectators and this event will be used as an inspirational team building outing for the gymnasts at the gym. They are looking forward to watching well known gymnasts from the United States and around the world.
Montachusett School of Gymnastics, located at 296 Summer Street in Fitchburg is beginning it’s 31st year in business and is operated by Owner, Peter Lusk. Classes range from toddler to higher level Team levels.
